The walking Petri dish spreads his wealth

Anthony seems to have passed on his cold to the rest of the family (Jerry’s been calling him a “walking Petri dish” for the past several days), leaving us with stuffy noses, fits of coughing and sneezing, and a general lack of energy.

Poor Cera so far has gotten the worst of it and has been running a low-grade fever for the past 24 hours. This afternoon, I was explaining to her that a fever is her body’s way of fighting off infection.

“So, your temperature is up because your body is battling Anthony’s germs,” I said. “And the fact that your fever is staying pretty low tells me that you’re winning the fight.”

Overhearing our conversation, Anthony began whining – in typical 3-year-old fashion – from the other side of the room.  “But I want to win!”
