Now I’m worried …

Anthony’s rash has gotten worse, especially a patch along his diaper line that I think would benefit greatly from some airing out. I’m just afraid of the mess that might ensue if I let him go sans diaper.

So I decided to talk to him about it.

“Mommy thinks your rash would get better quicker if you went without a diaper for a little while,” I said. “But that means you have to tell me when you need to go potty. I can’t have you peeing all over the living room.”

His response?

“Why not? I already peed on the couch.”

I really hope that was just one of those random things that spouts from my son’s mouth, like earlier in the day when he walked into the room, said, “I like to kill spiders,” and then turned around and walked back out without further explanation.

I mean, I don’t recall a wet spot on the sofa, and I haven’t smelled urine – other than what I find in Ant’s diapers, that is.

Still, I think I may have to have the couch professionally cleaned …

  1. That is the funniest thing I’ve read in a long time. Hate to tell you this, my boys were 3 1/2 when I potty trained them. We used tiny smiley face stickers.

  2. …I’m not sleeping on the couch anymore…
