With this afternoon’s bitterly cold temperatures, Anthony and I forewent our daily trip to the park and instead settled in on the living room floor for a few board games. We started with Memory, which he’s getting quite good at, and then moved on to Chutes and Ladders, which only held his attention for three-quarters of a game (literally – he was on space 75 of 100, with me having just taken a chute down to the second row from the bottom, when he quit).
The next game he chose was Guess Who, which we’ve been working on for several months. Ant’s getting a little better with the questions he asks, but this game is for ages 6 and above, so, understandably, he’s not an expert yet.
As was demonstrated by this afternoon’s line of questioning:
Anthony: Do you have bald hair?
Me: Yes, I am bald.
Anthony: Do you have a gas pumper in your car?
Me: I don’t know, Ant. That has nothing to do with what I look like. Ask a different question.
Anthony: Do you have a mustache? (Yes, finally, a good query!)
Me: No, I don’t have a mustache.
Anthony: Are you done being bald yet?
Me (dissolving into laughter): Anthony, my character isn’t going to suddenly grow hair. He’s always going to be bald.
