We started our second day in Mobile with a big family breakfast and then headed back to Aunt Madeline and Uncle Don’s house for more time with PaPa and the rest of the relatives. While Cera played with her great-aunts and uncles and Jerry caught up with his cousins, Anthony and I sacked out on the couch for a nap, which ended up lasting several hours. I guess we both needed it.
We woke up just in time for dinner, which was leftovers from the day prior, including crawfish and andouille sausage. We had arrived too late for Saturday’s lunchtime crawfish boil, and Jerry was in heaven with the remaining crustaceans, while Cera and I stuffed ourselves with the sausage – it was delicious!
After the meal, it was picture time, with cameras snapping away as PaPa posed with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Here are a few of my favorites, including (first) a four-generations photo with PaPa; Jerry’s dad, Gerard; Jerry and Anthony. I love how Anthony is looking at his grandfather.
It was another long day (although my marathon nap helped a lot) but well worth it. I had a wonderful time watching my children “discover” another part of their family.
