After 11 years in the newspaper business, I embarked on a second career – as a stay-at-home mom to my children, Cera, age 7, and Anthony, 4. Completing my family are my amazing husband, Jerry; our 13-year-old cat, Sampras (yes, he is named after the tennis player); and our Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, Aidan.

Hi there,
Glad you liked my book, Smash! Mash! Crash!
We have some things in common. I was a reporter at the LA Times for many years. My husband works in the food industry and loves to cook. We have one cat, though not named Sampras (Leopard’s her name). But as a sportswriter, I covered Pete Sampras when he was a high school freshman!
Cheers,

Jamie,
I was stoked to see that you have a blog now. It’s been a long time. I miss Sanford, but we’re having a blast in Texas. OMG, look at the kiddos!! I can’t believe it’s been so long. I also can’t believe Sampras is still around, LOL! Take care!!

Jamie, I am so glad I found this blog. I wanted to tell you that I am so sorry you left the Herald. You were always so kind to both my school and Star Community Theatre with your willingness to tell our stories! Thanks for everything!!!!!

Jamie,
Not sure if you remember me, but I used to work at the Extension office as the Horticulture Agent. I wrote the Garden Guide for the 3 year stint I was there. I remember when you were expecting your son!
Anyway, just happened upon your blog through a friend from church’s facebook page and it’s priceless! I’ve been living in the world of stay-at-home motherhood since my son was born in March of 2007. We’ve got baby boy Ivy #2 coming in May. I couldn’t be more in love with the most challenging job I’ve ever had.
Just thought I say hi!
Take care,
Sarah Ivy
